Dr. Liu Xiao is an Associated Professor in the School of Microelectronics and Communication Engineering at Chongqing University. He received the Ph.D. degrees from Chongqing University in 2010. From September to December 2007, he conducted academic exchanges and studies at Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia. From April to October 2013, he was a visiting scholar at the Department of Computational Medicine & Bioinformatics, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA.

He has taught undergraduate courses in Analog Eelectronic Technology (Low Frequency part), Analog Electronic Technology (High Frequency part), Television technology, and Introduction to Bioinformatics. And he guided the undergraduate students to participate in National and Chongqing undergraduate electronic design competition, Chongqing University student scientific research training program project, and other student activities.

His current research interests include bioinformatics, biomedical and biological information processing, intelligent information processing, and application of electronic information technology. His research has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Foundation of Chongqing, the China Post Doctor science foundation, and the basic scientific research fund of central universities of China. He also participated in a number of research projects. He serves as an accreditation expert of Chongqing Natural Science Foundation, and a reviewer of many SCI and domestic journals.
