From January 12 to 18, 2020, under the guidance of Yang Senlin, the college's undergraduate counselor, 42 undergraduate students went to Sendai, Japan to participate in the Northeast University winter camp. The students were diligent and proactive in the activities, which showed the students' good communication ability and solid professional quality, and were highly praised by the teachers and students of Northeast University.

Tohoku University, located in Sendai City, northeast Japan, is the third National University in Japan after Tokyo University and Kyoto University. It is composed of four campuses: chuannei, pianping, qingyeshan and Xingling. It has become a comprehensive national university with a huge scale, including arts, science, engineering, medicine and agriculture.

Tohoku University ranks 77th in the QS World University list in 2019. Tanaka Tanaka, the Nobel Prize winner in chemistry, graduated from this university. The great Chinese writer Lu Xun and mathematician Professor Su Buqing once attended this university. The school has a good style of study and school spirit, summed up as: respect for research, open door, rigorous scholarship. Professor Yuichi Moriya from Engineering Research teaches everyone in English

The winter camp team went to Tohoku University in Sendai on January 14. Professor Yuichi Moriya from Engineering Research delivered lectures in English. During this period, the students carefully studied the related courses such asCircuit Principle, Signal and System, etc., and mainly studied the basic circuit analysis methods and related knowledge in signal processing.

Students share their personal opinions in Japanese class

In September 1904, Mr. Lu Xun entered the Sendai medical school, the predecessor of the medical department of Northeast University, to take basic and theoretical subjects related to medicine.Mr. Fujino, as we know it, describes the strict and serious guidance given to Mr. Lu Xun by his teacher, Mr. Fujino during his studies in Japen. The Japanese also respect Lu Xun very much. There are bust statues of Lu Xun in the campus, as well as the "ladder classroom" and the scores of that time, as well as the revised manuscripts of Lu Xun's medical notes.

On January 17, all the students were divided into three groups and visited the micro / nano research and teaching center, machinery and Materials Laboratory of the Ministry of engineering under the guidance of teachers and graduate students. In the micro / nano research and teaching center, doctoral students from China introduced the key research directions and research results of the laboratory, and pointed out that Tohoku University is the only university in Japan with micron scale chip manufacturing equipment, which provides great convenience for research work. In the mechanical and material laboratory, various mechanical equipment and laser equipment measure the radius and flatness of cutting tools and other objects by mechanical and optical methods. The teacher in charge mainly introduced the team's efforts in developing new technology. In addition to providing the main precision instruments, the laboratory also provided a workshop for students to cut and punch basic metalworking operations. All the basic clamping elements for students' experimental research were made by themselves, which greatly improved the hands-on ability of students in the laboratory.

Visit in Asahi brewery in Ibaraki, Japan

On the way to Sendai, the team also visited Asahi brewery in Ibaraki county. Through the Japanese commentator Ono's introduction, students had a comprehensive knowledge of the operation process of modern enterprise factory production line and the industrial waste recycling treatment mode under the guiding principle of "zero waste, zero pollution".

On the morning of January 18, the team came to the Future Science Museum in Tokyo. Things in the museum displayed the thinking of science and philosophy, which would inspire people to explore more about the unknown world and to answer deeper philosophical questions. Through Japanese ukiyo, we learned about the impact of science and technology on our daily life, watched honda asimo robot performance, and knew about how Japanese scientists understood future resources and technology in the art sculpture created by AI. At this point, the winter camp was successfully completed.
