During the period from June 4 to 5, 2019, Zhou Xichuan, vice dean of the school of microelectronics and communication engineering, led the team to Manchester University and University of Warwick in the UK to carry out the Recruitment Plan of Talent Introduction and to expand academic exchanges.

On the morning of June 4th local time, the delegation held academic exchanges with the school of electrical and electronic engineering, Manchester University, and had a warm reception given by professors William Heath and Mohamed Missous. Firstly, Professor William Heath introduced the history and current situation of Manchester University and the school of electrical and electronic engineering respectively. Founded in 1824, Manchester university has a total of 25 Nobel Laureates in current and past staff and students. It is also the first university in the world to carry out engineering education, and the first batch of institutions to develop electronic computers. It ranks in the top fifty in the world in the list of major international mainstream Universities. Professor Zhou Xichuan introduced the history and current situation of Chongqing University and College of microelectronics and communication engineering, and expressed his desire for further cooperation and talent introduction. Finally, Professor Mohamed Missous introduced the research results of Hall sensors based on quantum effects and high frequency oscillatory diodes for 5g appilications and terahertz fields. Both sides carried out in-depth discussions and agreed to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, especially in imaging technology based on quantum Hall sensor relying on the profound accumulation of our college in the field of signal processing.

On the afternoon of June 4th local time, under the arrangement of Professor Mohamed Missous, the delegation exchanged views with excellent doctoral students, postdoctoral students and Chinese scholars from the school of electrical and electronic engineering, Manchester University. Vice dean Zhou Xichuan introduced the situation of the University and the college, focusing on the talent introduction policy of the University. He invited all students and scholars to work in Chongqing University and answered their questions one by one. The Chinese scholars represented by Professor Yin Junhui was sincerely happy with the development of Chongqing University in recent years, and expressed his willingness to recommend their students to work in Chongqing University after graduation.
On the afternoon of June 5 local time, the delegation came to the school of technology of Warwick University to exchange opinions on academic cooperation and talent introduction. The leaders of the two sides first introduced the situation of their respective schools and colleges. Founded in 1965, Warwick University is positioned as a top research university, ranking among the world's top 100 and even the top 50 all year round. Warwick University and Chongqing University are both members of the Sino British university engineering education and research alliance. Professor Tian Fengchun and Professor James Covington have had a long-term cooperative relationship in the field of electronic nose. The visit to Warwick University was also jointly facilitated by the two professors. The two sides held in-depth and extensive discussions on biosensor electronic systems and their applications in medical, food and air quality monitoring, machine learning, 5g communication, integrated circuit design and brain like chip research. In terms of talent introduction, Warwick University welcomed visiting scholars from Chongqing University, and expressed their willingness to help train teachers and to suppoet the introduction of high-level talents proposed by the college. After the meeting, the delegation exchanged views with Chinese students and scholars about their study, work and life in Warwick University, and invited them to work in the college.
